TRSF NEWS: 6/13/2008
TRSF and FREESTONE AMA NATIONAL is successful for another year!!
I'm finally speaking again (much to Buddy's sadness) and all I can say about Freestone this year is WOW!
Thank you to all the wonderful people who helped head up the TRSF this year.... Todd Binns and his wonderful family, Uncle Scotty and his amazing girlfriend, Ross and Steve Higgy, Pete, my simply outstanding husband. You guys gave way more than any should and we appreciate it.
Thanks to ALL the volunteers who took a shift, stayed longer than they were suppose to, or worked an area that they weren't assigned to (Kristine Duncan went about 4 different places). We had a lot of people return (Parker and Rance Buss, Duncans, Rippers, Munoz, the ENTIRE Williams family) and a whole bunch of new people that we don't know how we ever managed without them (Funk, Mays family, the Wells brothers, Glenn Brady, Cecil Lee, Richard Player, Alan Taylor!!). I was touched again by the goodness of people to come together to help and be a part of something like this.
We had some awesome kids and teenagers working for us again this year. All agreed the "ice delivery" was where IT was at! Thanks guys for all the energy put into it.
We learned a lot this last weekend:
- The "coolest" part of freestone was inside the ice truck.
- Todd Binns still holds the record for most people packed into a trailer.
- When collecting donations a cute teenage girl will collect almost as much by herself as 3 other people can collect together
- and...if your going to streak around the track naked make sure the owner has gone to bed before you do so...
Oh yea, thanks to Stewart Gaines for the most unbelievable name tags. They were so cool most people didn't want to wear them!!!
Thank you again to each and every one of you. We couldn't do it without you and simply put we wouldn't want to. You guys make it all that it is.
Thanks again to the Millers for letting TRSF have this role in their event. It means more to TRSF than anyone can possibly know.

TRSF and FreeStone County TEXAS OUTDOOR NATIONALS
Once again this year TRSF will be teaming up with The Millers and Freestone County MX during Round 3 of the Texas Outdoor Nationals on June 8th.
TRSF will have an even larger role this year and even more of of opportunity to be recognized as one of the leading foundations that supports injured mx riders across Texas.
This is the substantial fund raiser for TRSF as well. TRSF made a fair amount of it's operating budget last year at this event, but we are better prepared this year in terms of what to expect and plan on making this our MAJOR fund raising event.
From June 5-June 8 TRSF will be manning the entry gates to Freestone County, doing the ice sales for the weekend, handling pit pass sales and manning TWO drink stands this year on Sunday.
We can't do it alone! We need your help! We've already had the majority of the people who volunteered last year return to volunteer again this year.
But we need more. You can expect to work 10-12 hours for the weekend. Workers will work a 4 hour shift Friday or Saturday and than Sunday morning (unless you volunteer to do the ice sales or drink stands). You will be done to see all the racing on Sunday. In exchange for this Freestone County is providing several perks for it's volunteers. They get free gate entry for the entire weekend, free camping, all access to the grounds and pits (when the pits are open only), hospitality area and a viewing area that is set aside for them and their families if t hey choose to take advatange of it. There will be more to come....
Those who took part in this last year will tell you it was one of the most awesome experiences they've had. It was challenging and it was fun! TRSF benefitted substantially not year from just the cash contributions it raised, but from the major publicitity it received as being Freestone's "charity of choice".
If you'd like to be a part of it this year email me asap as slots are limited. If you are under 18 you are allowed to work, but must have an adult working with you or a signed and notarized release. For more questions or to sign up email me at
jennifermallozzi@sbcglobal.net
This year don't just attend the Nationals. Be a part.
Thank you Tony and Karen Miller for letting TRSF be a part of this again this year!

TDOG vs UncleScotty Grudge Match OFFICIAL RACE RESULTS
What a day. One I'm sure none of us will forget. Some of us will need therapy that's for sure.
Oh sure it started with some good fun, but than it got down to some serious racing. It got real serious when TDog and BigDaddy threw down enough money to make the winning "bet" with $1201.00 to UncleScotty's to $1200.00.
Binns knew with three years of wins under his belt that he was the favorite and need to offer some serious "handicapping". And since everyone knows women aren't as fast as guys, TDog showed up at the gate wearing a SIZE DD bra (with implants) and a long blone wig.
TDog was than joined on the gate by Rudy A, Big Daddy, and of course Uncle Scotty. 50 people could have been on the gate because it didn't matter....it all came down to TDOG/UncleScotty '08. TDog sat his pretty booty in a lawn chair, with boots unbuckled, gloves and goggles not on. We decided he was too close so we moved him back, way back.
The gate dropped and off they went! It was a great start. Except for TDog who had to finish getting dressed. Finally he did and with his blonde locks flying he wheelied down the starting stretch. It was a rough race and within 4 laps TDOG had chased down UncleScotty and they were battling it out for the last two laps. First TDog was in the lead, than UncleScotty, than TDog, back to Uncle Scotty. On it went this way until the last corner. They entered the last corner side by side. It seemed to take forever to decide who was going to get the lead....than DISASTER!!!!
TDog's bike stalled.
UncleScotty roared around the last corner taking the checkered flag!!!!
And the crowd went wild.
TDog had to push his bike to the checkered flag, but he finished! Last, and several "boobs" lighter than he started, a true champion
I believe the official results were Rudy, Big Daddy, UncleScotty and TDog.
And like all dogs who have been beat, TDog took his punishment well and ate UncleScotty's sock. We are all trying to recover from the horrors of watching that.
Last I heard was Tdog saying over and over to himself "Never again! Never again! I will be back and WIN in 09!"
See it all in pictures...

There was a second grudge race between Kchar and k5qoq. And what started as 2 grew to 6 or 7. We had Damian, Pinball, KChar, Jimbo, Ross, Funk and Geezer on the gate (at least). It was all in fun, but there were definitely some scores settled today:
Funk is faster than Ross
Ross is faster than Steven
KChar is faster than Jimbo
and PINBALL beat them ALL!!!
Thanks to everyone who came out to make this day so much fun and so terrific. I don't have pinball's total's yet, but after the race there was already $3000 for Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and more being pledged and mailed in. Thanks Scotty and TDog for doing this once again. Yall are awesome!

TDOG vs UncleScotty Grudge Match and TRSF SWAP MEET
Texas Rider Support Foundation is pleased to announce the Annual TDOG vs. Uncle Scotty GRUDGE MATCH and TRSF SWAP MEET at 3 Palms!!
WHEN: This Saturday March 29
WHERE: 3 Palms Extreme Park
WHAT TRACK? GP Track
WHAT TIME? 9-12
It's going to be a action packed, fun filled day:
1) The Legendary Grudge Race between Uncle Scotty and Todd Binns. 4th year now.
Will Uncle Scotty win this year? Let's hope so. Loser has to eat the dirty sock
of the winner.
All money bets placed on the race will go to Pediatric Brain Tumor foundation (win
or lose). This race is for bragging rights. Or should I say gagging rights? You
can view the smack talk on this website thread:
http://www.houstonmotocross.com/theforum/viewthread?thread=26066
2) why let Uncle Scotty and TDog have all the fun? This year we are opening up
grudge racing to everyone. For 25.00 to Pediatric Brain Tumor foundation you can
call out ANYONE for a 3 lap race on the GP Track. And it doesn't have to be just
one person. Call out ALL your friends. 25.00 per race for 2 people. Invite
everyone you've ever known you were faster than for 35.00. Again this is for FUN
and for bragging rights only.
3) Riding laps to raise money...don't want to race? Just get people to sponsor
you to ride some laps on the GP track and race money that way. Emil/3Palms will
be matching those sponsors up to 200.00. Thanks 3Palms. Again, all money going
to Pediatric Brain Foundation. This is a great way to get the kids who ride to
raise money riding for those who can't.
The GP track will be for "open" for practice from 9-10 a.m. for those who are
riding laps or practicing for the grudge racing. Those riding laps will take a
break while there is some racing going on and can get back out there between that.
4) Swap meet. Posted on another thread, but you can buy a table for 15.00 and
sell all your used gear/mx items. This money will be a TRSF fund raiser and
we'll have tables out there with all kinds of gear, tires, handlebars, autographed
jerseys, etc. Contact Rance Buss at rbuss@mjlm.com for more info.
TRSF will also be out selling shirts, etc. Come and out and join us. It's going
to be an awesome morning of riding/racing and friends.

He broke his neck at cervical 6 & 7 and is now classified as an incomplete quadriplegic. Since his accident he has been able to move his left foot slightly and has regained some hand strength. Although unable to walk, Andy’s spinal cord is not completely damaged, so there’s a big opportunity for him to regain movement and walk again with the right advanced physical therapy. This type of advanced spinal cord physical therapy is not covered by personal insurance and must be paid for out-of-pocket. The cost of attending a 12-week program begins at $10,000. Due to the high cost of the program, he has not been able to attend. With his positive attitude, perseverance, faith and your help, Andy’s dream of someday being able to walk again will come true. Thank you so much for supporting his courageous efforts and hard work to achieve his goal!

TRSF thanks BR Plumbing and Beveridge Construction
As we approach Thanksgiving I always think of all that I have and feel so blessed.
But today I want to thank two guys especially....
David Beveridge of Beveridge Construction
and
Buddy Russell of BR Plumbing
These two men have stepped up to help Lloyd in a way that has just boggled my mind. Lloyd has returned home and needed some mods to his house, especially his bathroom. I asked David Beveridge if he could build a ramp for Lloyd's house. His IMMEDIATE answer was "Yes. And anything else he needs as well". I'm not sure how the the ramp turned into a complete bathroom remodeling, but never once did David ever say anything but "we'll get it done".
Buddy. What to say about him, but just thank God for Buddy. Maybe it's because he has been where Lloyd is now that he was able to go in and see exactly what was needed and in typical Buddy fashion, took charge to get it done. Sure, he could have said, "Lloyd can get by with xxx or xxx", but he didn't.
Both of these gentlemen own businesses that put them in the position to help, but both are very busy in their businesses. To do this job they pulled crews off other jobs and sent them all the way to Stafford. They never once said "can't" or "won't".
And here's the kicker...neither one of these companies have billed a dime for the work.
Thank you guys..for your doing a great job and for your immediate response to being asked for help. You continue to make me feel like I'm the fortunate one because I live in a world where there are people like you.

Highlands Race/TRSF fundraiser
HUGE props to Tracker1 for his awesome fund raising idea that he put into action last week.
Tracker came up with the idea to support not only TRSF but local racing by sponsoring TRSF with 1.00 per race entry at the Highlands race last week. And he challenged others to do the same.
Of course, David Beveridge was first in line to meet that challenge and raise the stakes. The others who quickly fell in were 40onRM (Buddy), CypressRider (Dana), ProWorks Racing, Erik Shea, Brad Jones, Gateman, Dr. Sanders, and Chad (sorry the last name escapes me at this moment).
A total of $761.00 was pledged by these awesome individuals and is in the process of being sent in. All this money will stay in the area and help the riders that TRSF benefits.
Besides just the money that was raised was the thought and the belief in TRSF that left me speechless.
TRSF has had entire fundraisers, where we have sold burgers and hot dogs ALL DAY and didn't make this much money. We've had to get out there and "sell" TRSF to make people know us and support us. So to have Tracker1 put this out there and the awesome people immediately throw their support in, well that just reinforces my belief in this foundation and the good that it is doing.
I loved Tracker's idea and hope to see it put out there again. We need to support the local racing! I don't care who you are. If you race GO RACE. If you don't race GO WATCH! We need these tracks and they need our support.
Thank You!!!!
Jennifer

TRSF announces Moto Extreme Kawasaki and Beveridge Construction as new Gold level sponsor.
Moto Extreme Kawasaki of Tomball has made a donation of $1000.00!!!!
Thanks so much to MotoExtreme for their very generous support of TRSF.
This money will go directly to the injured riders in our area and we appreciate not only the financial support but also the belief in the foundation.
MotoExtreme would like to challenge all other bike dealerships to match their donation.
We'd also like to announce the sponsorship from Beveridge Construction.
You all know Beveridge from his posts here and his generous donations cleverly disquished as buying motocross jerseys for "pinball compoud". David has also thrown his support to TRSF in not only financial support but also in construction assistance. BR Plumbing and Beveridge Construction will be handling the modifications of Lloyd's house soon.
There are MANY, many more sponsors and people that TRSF would like to thank. Rusty Stern, Tracker1, Shawn Martin (HOH), Greg Howard, Vern Patterson and many more.
Honestly, y'all are making a difference in lives and we all thank you!

TRSF receives its official 501c classification from the Internal Revenue Service.
TRSF is thrilled to announce that we now have our official 501C from the IRS. To explain the amount of information and work to get a 501C would take a long time but trust me it's not easy.
What this means now is any donation that you have made or auction item that you won, is now 100% tax deductible. It also means we are a real foundation with Government approval.
I want to especially thank Heather Cooper for all her hard work completing the application.
The TRSF website will be changed now to www.texasridersupportfoundation.org. The .com site will simply forward there.
TRSF is now a year old and in the past year we've raised and donated over $30,000 to injured riders here in Texas!! If you've donated to TRSF in the last year or bought something at one of our auctions, check with your tax advisor, but it's all deductible off your taxes..even from all of last year's contributions!! If you need a receipt please contact us.
We are looking forward to several big events later this year starting wtih Freestone Labor Day weekend. TRSF will be out in force raising money. After that we'll be teaming up wth the old schoolers again and than towards the end of the year we look foward to working with Emil and his great crew at 3P for their annual fundraiser!
Thanks again for everyone's support and a big thanks to all our sponsors.

TDOG vs. UncleScotty Second Annual Grudge Match to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
The annual Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation Ride for Kids will be held on April 29 at the Pasadena Convention Center. Last year more than 500 Houston area motorcyclists raised in excess of $ 220,000 for research, treatment and scholarships for children with brain tumors. T-Dog and unclescotty had a motocross grudge race last year to raise money for Scott's participation in the 40 mile ride with his sidecar and Garrett, a brave young man fighting cancer.
Todd won that grudge race. However, this year unclescotty is out for T-Dog's blood in their unprecedented rematch! "I'm going to beat T-Dog like a well worn tambourine." a confident unclescotty was heard boasting in the pits this past weekend. "Since last year's race, T-Dog traded his CRF for a dinning room table and some collectable placemats. A grow man who makes decisions like that is either a professional interior designer, or light in the loafers, or a bit of both!" unclescotty speculates. "I'll beat that sissy this year."
All Houston motocrossers are encouraged to place a wager on who you think will win the grudge race, and to make your donation unclescotty's Ride for Kids.
If Todd has the courage to accept this challenge, the race will be at 3 Palms the weekend of April 21-22. The Ride for Kids will be held on April 29 in Pasadena
If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation, please make your check payable to P.B.T.F. (Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation) and mail it to:

TRSF had a great weekend at Freestone and we wish to thank Tony & Karen Miller and Tom Shields.
Tony and Karen have got to be some of the nicest people I have ever met and Tom is always a great guy.
For those people who have never been to Freestone, I'm telling you, its a first class outfit all the way.
I have never been to a more professionally run track ever.
These guys know their business.
As to the track I was kicking myself all weekend for not having my bike with me so I could take a few laps.
The layout looks fantastic, the dirt awesome and the jumps all seem extremely safe.
Thanks again Tony, Karen and Tom !!
We raised a great amount of money for Hunter Whitley. I hope to have a grand total for everyone this week.
The auction was a huge success due to Vernon Patterson and of course Buddy Russell.
Then again, Dave (systemmx) happened to leave with a new Thumpstar pit bike with all the funds going to Hunter.
We know Dave's wife was thrilled to have another bike in the garage.
Dana.. Dave says you can still get the new floors.
There will be another auction for Hunter or we will do EBay. Some of the items that we did not have in time for this weekend are:
Travis Pastrana gear
Tommy and Will Hahn gear
Mike Alessi signed fender
Kyle Partridge Helmet
FMF BMX bicycle
And many more items to come.....
All of us would like to personally thank everyone that donated items for auction. Without all of you TRSF would not be what we are.
A Special thanks from all of us at the TRSF, to Mark Ellis ( the man behind the " smoker " ) & Lee Ann for their tremendous efforts in cooking & serving.
Thanks to everyone that came out, we hope you enjoyed the food and we appreciated all the donations.
Pics were provided by the graciousness of Tim "THE RAGE" Wallace... THANKS TIM!!!!!

TRSF NEWS: 11/2/2006
- The Texas Rider Support Foundation (TRSF) and Freestone County Raceway have joined together to conduct a benefit for Hunter Whitley of the Lufkin, Texas area.
Hunter is son of former AMA Pro and current manager for a Kawasaki satellite team in AMA SX/MX, Billy Whitley.
Hunter Whitley suffered a spinal injury earlier this year and was left with little to no movement below his chest. Since his injury, the insurance has capped and now help is needed for an extended motocross family. The latest update shows far more positive signs as Hunter has regained slight movement in his hips and feeling in his feet.
"The AMA Texas State Championship is the perfect venue to help the Whitley family" said TRSF VP, Jennifer Mallozzi. "We will have full concessions at Freestone for the entire weekend with 100% of the proceeds going to the cause."
Activities include but not limited to:
TRSF Concessions - 100% of the profit
TRSF T-Shirts sales
TRSF Live or Silent Auction
TRSF Sticker sales
Freestone $1 per Entry donation
The menu is going to be great so don't be afraid to eat out for a good cause. The menu includes but not limited to: Lunch and dinner offering such items as Sliced Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Sausage Wraps, Hot Dogs and Hamburgers. Assorted breakfast taco's will be the order each morning. A wide selection of beverages, chips, banana's and apples. For a full menu selection, go to the TRSF link below. Additionally, auction items are coming in every day from top AMA Pro riders such as Kevin Windham, Chad Reed and other to be confirmed on the TRSF web site. Other items up for bidding include a Thumper Pit Bike, items from MOOSE and loads of other goodies.
The TRSF is looking for volunteers, sponsors of wholesale foods, etc ...... anything to keep the overhead down and the amount of profit up for Hunter. You can contact Jennifer Mallozzi at jennifermallozzi@sbcglobal.net or Buddy Russell at buddyrussell@sbcglobal.net to get on the list to help out. Your volunteer work will be a great reward and very appreciated. For more information about the fund raiser, you can contact the TRSF at www.TexasRiderSupportFoundation.com. This letter and the funds raised and provided are all because of YOU !!! Thanks for your support of TRSF.
Hi Jennifer,

I want to say THANK YOU for continuing to keep Andy in the forefront of your efforts to raise money for injured riders. Words cannot express how incredibly appreciative we are for your foundation, and for the recent $500 additional donation. We will have a booth set up by the GP track and will be available to talk with anyone about the foundation, it's board members and the work that we are doing in the motocross community. We will have TRSF shirts and stickers available as well as Stevie Kurth stickers for sale.
We are excited to announce that Emil has announced that $1.00 from each race entry this Sunday will be donated to TRSF! A huge thank you to Emil and 3P.
Upcoming events you will see TRSF are in September the Old School Mxers Reunion at Rio. September 24th. This is a great day to renew old frienships and make some new ones. TRSF will be hosting a live and silent auction that day with proceeds to go to the foundation. One item up for auction will be a signed Nick Wey jersey. Lots of other cool items as well. TRSF will be supporting the Old Schoolers so they can enjoy the day, so in the near future we'll be looking for a few individuals that can come out and help with the flagging and auction.
In October we will be back again at 3P for the Saturday night customer appreciation race on the 7th as well as the Dealer's Challenge! 3 Palms is AGAIN pledging to donate $1.00 per race entry from these two races to the foundation. We hope to also provide some excellent BBQ on the 22nd at the Dealer's Challenge. We will be raising money that weekend to benefit Hunter Whitley and Andy Whitlock. Please come out and help support these injured riders!
